Nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is a charming market town perched atop a hill, offering picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. Below are options on how to get to Stow-on-the-Wold - if you are keen to park in the village, we recommend allowing enough time to find parking, as Stow will be very busy during the summer period. The reception will take place at Hyde House, a 5-10 minute drive from St. Edward's Church - we do not recommend walking to Hyde House.
To Stow By Car:
Stow is well-connected by major roads, sitting at the crossroads of the A429 (the Fosse Way) and the A436. It’s approximately 30 minutes from Cheltenham, 40 minutes from Oxford, and just under 2 hours from London, depending on traffic. Stow will be very busy during June so parking will be very limited - we recommend guests allow enough time to locate parking & walking to St. Edward's Church.
Parking
We have hired parking on Stow Cricket Field just off the B4068 towards Lower Swell - a 5 minute walk from the Church. On entering the field you may park your cars to the right of the benches ahead of you, perpendicular parking at the right-most heading wall of the field. Parking next to each other is extra fabulous as we are told the local dog walkers love their park looking smart as it's not usually hired out. Additional points rewarded for not performing doughnuts or car chases churning the grass - as fun as this is :'-) sadly we shall incur fines. Feel free to contact Joe on 07740274973 with any questions ahead of the day. Kindly do not contact on the Wedding Day unless urgent as we will be enjoying our wedding mornings <3
To Stow By Train:
The nearest train station is Moreton-in-Marsh, just a 10-minute drive, bus or taxi away. This station is on the Cotswold Line, with regular direct trains from London Paddington, Oxford, and Worcester. From Moreton-In-Marsh station, taxis are available to take you directly to Stow, or you can arrange for a local taxi in advance to ensure a smooth transfer. We recommend booking taxis in advance as taxis are limited during the summer & Uber is not available in the region.
Whether you’re arriving by road or rail, Stow-on-the-Wold’s central location ensures an easy journey to this beautiful destination.
Airport:
The nearest airport to Stow-on-the-Wold is Birmingham International airport, which is a 1 hour drive to Stow.
Hyde House
Hyde House Is on the A429, between Bourton-on-the-water and Stow-on-the-Wold - a 5-10 minute drive from St. Edward's Church. There is parking available at Hyde House where cars can be left over night and collected by 10am the following morning.
To ensure a smooth journey, we suggest booking your taxis ahead of time, especially during the busy summer months when availability may be limited.
